The 5 Stars of Krombacher

The five stars on every Krombacher label are a quality promise. Each one stands for a principle we never compromise on — from the water we brew with to the final check before a bottle leaves Krombach.

1 · Felsquellwasser®

Every Krombacher is brewed exclusively with our own protected rock-spring water — naturally soft, low in minerals and the foundation of the brand’s clean, characteristic taste.

2 · The Reinheitsgebot (1516)

We brew strictly to the German Purity Law of 1516: water, malt, hops and yeast — and nothing else. No additives, no shortcuts.

3 · Single-use yeast

Fresh yeast is used only once per brew. Every batch starts with pure, first-generation yeast for a clean, consistent fermentation — the yeast is never reused.

4 · Maturation (Lagerung)

The beer is given time. A long, cold maturation lets it round out and develop its full, smooth flavour before filtration.

5 · Quality assurance (Qualitätssicherung)

Continuous laboratory and sensory checks at every stage — from raw materials to the finished beer — guarantee that every Krombacher meets the same standard, worldwide.
