The Reinheitsgebot (German Purity Law of 1516)
The Reinheitsgebot, enacted in Bavaria in 1516, is one of the world’s oldest still-referenced food-quality regulations.
What it permits
In its classic form the Reinheitsgebot allows only four ingredients in beer: water, malted grain, hops and yeast. No colourings, flavourings, preservatives or adjuncts.
Krombacher & the Reinheitsgebot
Every Krombacher beer — including the alcohol-free Krombacher 0,0% — is brewed strictly to the Reinheitsgebot. For importers and consumers alike, it is a clear, recognisable guarantee of authenticity and purity.
