About Krombacher in Sierra Leone
Krombacher is one of Germany’s leading independent breweries – family-owned since 1803, brewed in the same Sauerland village for more than two centuries and exported to over 40 countries. In 2026 Krombacher is launching a Phase 1 partner program for Sierra Leone and is selecting exclusive trade partners in Freetown, Bo, Kenema & the provinces, Lungi & the Western Area Peninsula and for nationwide hospitality.
Sierra Leone has a beer market of around 500,000 hectolitres a year, of which imported beer accounts for roughly 20%. Premium demand is concentrated in Freetown’s hotels, restaurants and beach bars, among international organisations and in the growing tourism along the Western Area Peninsula. Krombacher brings the German Reinheitsgebot of 1516 and its own protected water source, Felsquellwasser®, to this category.
