About Krombacher in Botswana
Krombacher is one of Germany’s leading independent breweries – family-owned since 1803, brewed in the same Sauerland village for more than two centuries and exported to over 40 countries. In 2026 Krombacher is launching a Phase 1 partner program for Botswana and is selecting exclusive trade partners in Gaborone & the South-East, Francistown & the North-East, Maun, the Okavango & Chobe and for nationwide hospitality.
Botswana has a beer market of around 1.5 million hectolitres a year, of which imported beer accounts for roughly 15%. Premium demand is concentrated in Gaborone’s business and retail hubs and in the high-end safari tourism of the Okavango Delta and Chobe, where international lodges serve guests from around the world. Krombacher brings the German Reinheitsgebot of 1516 and its own protected water source, Felsquellwasser®, to this category.
