The Brewing Process

Krombacher beer is brewed in clear, traditional steps — using only the four Reinheitsgebot ingredients.

Mashing & lautering

Malted grain is mixed with hot Felsquellwasser® so its starches convert to fermentable sugars, then the liquid wort is separated from the spent grain.

Boiling & hopping

The wort is boiled and hops are added, giving the beer its bitterness, aroma and natural stability.

Fermentation & maturation

Fresh, single-use yeast ferments the wort into beer, which then rests in a long, cold maturation before it is filtered and filled.
